waking up in deep sleep

Its been awhile since I have the much needed energy to make a simple lively conversation. t' was a a gruelling 2 months of uncertainty and sorrows. My father was sick, has died and end this week 40 days buried. I haven't been able to see him before he passed away but I shoulder the burden upon my shoulder and now that I am coming home. Its going to be an emotional homecoming to the Philippines. Aside from being a holiday season, its going to be sentimental for our family, first christmas together without our parents being both deceased. Thanks be to God I always manage to rise up and moved on. I believe there is still beautiful things coming my way in the future. My loving husband is always by my side and with the help of time, things is going back to normal soon.

Summer is over

Funny but it seems our vacation ended yesterday. Everything is back to the normal pace. We had a wonderful summer even though there is either too much or too little presence of the sun. There was a lot of barbecue parties and happenings with friends and families. We have had a bountiful garden this year which generally took up most of our time. I didn't even had any dull moment's except some very tiring afternoon which I ended taking a long nap. My habit of doing multiple task at the same time didn't bother my husband this time coz' he is also pre-occupied with music and activities with his mates. It was all by all a wonderful summer holiday. Starting today is the beginning of preparation for our forthcoming long visit to my homeland Philippines. We are going to escape the winter period this year so its time to oversee any damage or anything that can possibly harm our house in case lots of snow falls down in December. We are going to leave Belgium on the 15th of November and we are coming back the 12th of April next year. Its gonna be a looooong warm holiday and thus, we also need lots of work done. I myself wanted to be a little creative this time. I wanted to give families and friends special attention, that's why instead of giving the traditional 'pasalubong' gifts of soaps and perfumes. I had something in mind which I thought will be a better alternative. Because nowadays you can buy everything there in the Philippines. From cranberry juice to cadburry chocolates and Belgian's beer. I  thought about making a shopping bag out of my fabric scraps and I actually finished up some:

Off to the countryside

Weatherman says its the best day of the week, it is supposed to be sunny with 21 °C celsius dus, We'll take a day off to the country side and eat some fresh fish. just finished inventories of my fabric stash and guess what I fished out of my cluttery cabinets. Lots of unfinished pieces of projects plus a handful of DMC threads which I completely forgotten I bought it. I'll be sure in deep concentration for the next week. And although I promised to avoid personal agenda in my hobby blog. Its too obvious to fail, I was and I believed now that I am not an organized person. Its got to be alltogether in one blog or I should stop blogging and free the web of my monotonous stories. Its time to get ready!

Officially summer vacation

Yesterday begins my summer vacation even if there is no sign of summer at all in Belgium. As always, my habit of doing multitude of things at the same time proves to be my worst weakness. Although I did accomplish a lot. There are of course a lot to finish up. I was so touched by the documentay I watched yesterday about some people who have this problems about compulsive hoarding behavior. Then I was a little bit panicky myself, because I recognized some sign of hoarding behavior in me. Like when I started sewing something and I didn't get it right in the first place.  I used to be so frustrated that instead of making the necessary alteration. I shoved it in my big box and forget all about it, then I am going to begin again with another fabrics until I got it right. But then, I'm not throwing anything at all or salvaging what is left to be recycled. If I searched my sewing room, I don't even know yet what is there to find. So I woke up early this morning and wrote down a planner. I hate failing in anything I myself love to do and the worst is, its too hard to admit it. Since I am already enrolled for September, I should take all the oppurtunity to make the necessary inventories of what has to be done and finish up, before I started anew. That includes updating my blogs which turned out be a seasonal hobby already. Its gonna be a long day today, but it has to happen now or never. :)

First of May, labor day

I literally made this day as labor day @ home. I finished cleaning up my cupboards and kitchen sink. Its no use waiting for the weather man to say when its gonna be a good day. Like today was supposed to be a bad day and it turns out to be a real fine day. And guess what, I begun today making a new house dress for the summer using this pattern from Burda. Its not finished yet, so I'll be posting the finished dress later this week. Tomorrow I'll brave going to the city of Brussel amidst bad weather update. I'm hoping to have a nice break with my monotonous daily stuff and visit a store of a a man from Morroco located in Brussel, which sells lots of stuff for sewing. Wel, that is only if I finished early my business with the Phil-embassy. Got to sleep now.

Time to show a sign of life

I'm back again, literally, we are actually not a single day away for vacation as planned, coz, the place where we are supposed to go has bad weather condition than here at home. So we had just decided to stay in the house during easter holiday which is 2 weeks here in Belgium. I am happy to share that I have put my house in order for the summer and I moved my sewing gadgets from the spareroom to the gang so that I can cook and sew at the same time. And to finally feel that I have more room to breath than normal where I can watch people passby during the day.

I was inspired by the color tone of today's spring and summer collection, so I decided to sew some of my fabric stashed. I still sew the same style that I am comfortable with, wether I wore it in the church or at home I always feel the need to stay on my comfort zone. But anyway I'm beginning to read more on fashion and color combination. As a teenager I was half a girl, half a boy. At 30 I was still proving I am a girl but I can wear pants and earned a lot to feed my family. At 40 plus is I think a sensible option to finally be a lady or an old lady. Which I happen to feel so close already.

Here's what I been up to lately:

Happy Easter Holiday

Times flew very fast like the speed of light and before I noticed its already end of the month. I was too focused on my photography class that I have less and less time to post here in my blog. I supposed its time to have a bit update soon. Anyway I have learned a lot already over my Nikon D90 DSLR. At least I know already what  the functions of its numerous buttons are and what remains to get acquainted to is its complicated menu. Meanwhile we'll having two weeks holiday and I'm sure its going to be another busy days to come.

My progress on Kate's photo.

This is so far what I had able to stitch this week. Its beginning to have a shape and although, the face itself is recognizable, it is still not in best quality. I am discussing this matter with my teacher last week and we came up with the same conclusion. First of all, the photo I used is not original, it is actually a photo I just downloaded from a sunday paper in London. Because its not original the quality is also very poor, (lesser mega pixel means lesser details captured) thus, the contour of every angle is also distort. secondly, the choice of colors is also very important, which is something that I have to study closely. And naturally the choice of cloth. I have to admit, that what I used here is also not a good quality, taking into consideration that it is an experiment, I thought about being thrifty on this one. Well, I learned alot, and I supposed, I'll be booking more sucess next time. This is not a real PRO Photo converter, but then, even the real thing doesn't deliver the best result whenever I overlook some points. Like when I did my wedding photo, It was such a shame that up to now, I haven't had any inspiration to do it again. Anyway I intend to finish it (Kate) to be able to see the difference next time. Weather I can work on others photo better than this one.

Photoshopping

I missed the 2nd day of our digital photography class last week due to my influenza, but thanks to the e-school, I could at least look into the smart school via my computer, if ever I missed a lot. I kept myself busy the whole time I am sick sorting out old photos, which I had fun trying to photoshop or whatever they called it. I don't have a photoshop software, but I am beginning to snag a couple of ideas through on-line photo fixing tools. Still coughing but thank God my nose is better. Weather man says tomorrow is a fine day to stroll outside so, I suppose I could finally go out and take some photos for my first module which is about Sharp shots in the background and in the foreground. I hope to have a lucky day tom.

Njam TV

I don't mind being parked in my canopy although I hate being sick. As long as I could watch cooking shows, such as: Njam which is almost 24 hours a day. I was never an avid fan of TV, but cooking programs  are becoming a revolutionary measures against sex and violence on media. That's why I like it very much. Chef's from all over the world are my hottest and sexiest TV personality of all time. I may not like everything they cooked, but I am definietely fascinated with their talent. Bitchin Kitchin is my favorite. I wonder when are they going to feature an American chef. I'll be patiently waiting.

Winter blues again

It looks like the winter is going to get going for quite sometime. I really hate it, being stranded inside the house, not that its annoying staying at home. I am a house mice and I always have one thousand things to do at the same time. Anyway, I'm glad that its a bit sunny despite the snow outside. Whenever the sun peek inside the house, its means I can cross stitch for at least an hour or two a day. Doctor's order, not too much concentration will do me a favor to little by little regain my old self. Just no cross stitching, sewing or reading at night. By the way I have just started stitching a photo of princes Kate of England. I got a photo converter gift from a very kind lady whose name I may never mention in public. She is a public figure, and I am glad she has become my friend. Although I am not yet one hundred percent convince that this pattern would do justice to the photo of the princes. I will give it the benefit of the doubt.

Update as of September 1-2013

Love to finish this project someday or stitch a new photo of Princes Catherine, but I I have to study and redo the pattern because I am not 100 percent satisfied with the outcome.

I had given up hope to recover all my lost data

I guess I have to try to recover my lost data manually instead of trying to figure out what went wrong with my post. After a long vacation I thought its going to be easier when the winter comes. First I have to get used to my new computer and learn hubby to be able to work on his music writing.

Forever in a school bank

No one is too old to learn and it seems I may  justified the case.  Because starting February 2, I'll be back in school to learn photography this time. I realized that I could never use my new reflex camera if I didn't learn it properly.
