Saying Goodbye to the old year

What a turbulent year, full of uncertainties about the crisis all over the world. Lots of goodbyes and transitions , storms and civil wars. But most of all meeting lots of people with same interest, popping up from nowhere and suddenly dealing likes and dislikes and sharing knowhows. Some people come to stay and some was gone for good. The most important thing is knowing there is one we can always rely on. No matter what.

And the best has yet to come.

Still making list for 2014

Photos of Ann Logan

I wish to stitch this pattern made by Ann. I've been looking forward to stitch some iconic figure in my life.
Queen Maxima is such a good example. I have done a photo of Princes Di, but I had given it away already.

Thanks to Ms Ann Logan, Click Bohol Philippines for the free pattern. I hope to be able to do this sometime sooner.

Have to work overtime today

Spending my last 2013 sunday snuffling on my thread stashed so that I do not have to buy same color for these summer project I have in hand . Instead of making list for new years resolution as I always do before. Here I am making list for my next and unfinished projects for 2014.

And here are what I wished I'll be able to start around summertime. I may not forget that my secret garden number 3 needs a few more stitches. I love making plans, and I really love it when I can make it happen. Why not dreamed about?

Merry Christmas to all

It came without ribbons!  It came without tags!  It came without packages, boxes or bags!"...

Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before!  "Maybe Christmas," he thought, "doesn't come from a store.

Maybe Christmas... perhaps... means a little bit more!"

Just finished packing my baggage

Its first time ever that I haven't focused myself on what to make for Christmas eve. First time ever that I write Christmas cards just for a few  people who really closed to me. Since the aftermath of the storm became visibly horrid and the war in Syria is still going on. I decided not to make a lot of fuss over the holidays. I thought about reflecting and pray everyday for the unfortunate people who could not have a chance to buy themselves a Noche Buena. I have made a  decision to spend what I normally give for presents to a worthy cause. When all the papers are done and its official, I would probably tell more about it.

But now I would like to show what I have been up to lately. Going home to the Philippines means a lot to me. Every time our booking is confirmed, I began buying things and presents so that It would not tighten my budget all at once. My baggage is always to the limit, thanks to the 30 kilo allowance this time. We are flying with Ethad that's why. As always, I don't bring much clothes from here 'cause, clothes are cheaper down there. But sometimes, I wanted to wear house dress just like the old times and because everybody does. (the women) I thought about sewing some for myself, of course  one of the main reason is to show off to my sisters that I can already sew (lol).

This is what we called  "Duster". I'm not really sure but I think it usually should be worn when cleaning or dusting. It has become a natural habbit of the women to wear some kind of dress like this because its comfortable due to the warm temperature.

And here are what I made out of scraps for some kids in the neighborhood. Its not really easy sewing children's clothes when one is only guessing for their sizes. But I hope to get better ideas next time.

The Lord is Counting on (me) you

One of my Precious moments collection finished first week of November.

I'm still finishing some sewing projects for kids at home in the Philippines. Probably finished tomorrow plus among other things to sort out, then I'll go back stitching the days away before we go on 6 months vacation. I really should dig out my handwork boxes to count my UFO's. Actually I have mountains of work yet to be done and hobbying should be set aside, but in times like this when its cold and dark outside, there is nothing so especial than counting stitches for me.
